You can read his comments below: I am a lecturer of Economics at the University of Lisbon. I was travelling via London to Belfast. I had to attend a Seminar about the economic crisis after Covid-19. The world economy suffered heavily during the pandemic and now we live in a phase which I like to call “After-Pandemic.” There is a great danger waiting for us even though the epidemic has not yet completely ended. The loss that the world economy suffered is no way near the loss that is coming after the covid if we did not take important and appropriate actions that are in dire need in the current situation. Some of these steps which are needed to take may have some backlashes from the public but if we want to sustain our economic condition we have to make those hard and unpopular decisions.

This seminar was very important in this regard. Some of the great economic minds and professors as well were going to attend this seminar and give their lectures about the whole situation and show us the way out of this turmoil. I was travelling via London. We stopped at the airport for the refuelling on our way to Belfast. But suddenly it was announced that all flights to Belfast were cancelled due to bad weather there. They told us that there was a storm around the airport that destroyed some structures around the landline area.

There was a rescue going on and the airport would be fully functional but it will take some time. My friend who lives in Salisbury called me and told me that the conference was called off for the day and would take place the next day at the same time. I thought I might stay at his place that night. He was also attending the seminar and after the news was now heading back to his home. I looked online and booked a cab from company.

The company had good reviews on it. The driver came in time. He was looking for me in his flat cap. I spotted him, he delightfully greeted me and took my bags and placed them in the trunk of the car. I booked a cab from Stansted Airport to Three Swans Chequer, Salisbury. My friend owns a house there. We started our journey around 5:00 in the evening. The driver was very nice and we had a good chat along the way. He had some very interesting views on the world economy. I learnt the perspective of a common man and how he perceives things happening around him. He suffered from covid as well but was highly optimistic now the worst have gone past us. We finally reached my friends’ place. We drove there in just under two and a half hours keeping in view the traffic on that day. He gave me back my luggage and said his goodbyes to me. My friend was already waiting for me at the door. I shook hands with him and went into the house.
